Awa Odori dance festivals in Japan are incredibly vibrant, loud and dynamic. Capturing this atmosphere and being right in the middle of it all was one of the most enjoyable experiences I ever had in my career as a photographer.

During covid an entire entertainment industry on the Canary Islands came to a grinding halt due to lockdowns. What is usually a busy port full with pleasure crafts, speed boats, divers and tourists laid silent for the first time since its construction in the 1950s.
